V S Naipaul won the Booker Prize in 1971 for his novel 'In a Free State'. The book followed themes of alienation, racial tension, and disruption. He was the first Indian-origin novelist to win the Booker Prize in the fiction category.

Aravind Agida

The Booker winner of 2008, for his book The White Tiger Aravind Adiga began his career as a financial journalist. The White Tiger sold more than 200,000 copies, and it was also made into a movie in 2021 starring Priyanka Chopra, Rajkumar Rao, and Adarsh in 2021.
