PATIALA: An email sent on Friday morning by area commander of Babbar Khalsa International allegedly threatened former deputy speaker of Punjab, Bir Devinder Singh. The email came days after the Punjab government withdrew his security.
Following email sent by BKI area commander Nishan Singh, former deputy speaker said the onus of protecting his life is on the government and if anything untoward happens to him, Sukhbir Badal, deputy chief minister of Punjab, who is also the home minister, will be held responsible for it.

The email claimed that a meeting of BKI areas commanders was held some days ago, where they decided to recruit 1,000 unemployed youngsters from Punjab for establishment of Khalistan in Punjab. The email said it was decided to “set him right” as he had been creating obstacles for them. “I have been vociferous in speaking out against terrorists and that is why I am being targeted. If in the wake of the threatening email, any harm is caused to me or to my family, then Sukhbir Badal will be held responsible for it,” he said.
