"LK Advani ji, former deputy prime minister of India, has been admitted to the ICU of Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals for medical management and investigations," Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals said in a statement, as reported by news agency PTI.

Advani is being treated under Dr Vinit Suri, a senior consultant in the neurology department. He was brought to the hospital two days ago, though the reason for his latest hospitalisation has not been disclosed.

This is not the first time the BJP stalwart has been admitted to Apollo Hospital this year. In August, Advani was hospitalised for routine follow-up tests and investigations. At that time, the hospital issued a statement confirming his condition was stable, and he was discharged shortly after.

In July, he also underwent observation at the same hospital and was discharged after a brief stay. Earlier this year, Advani had been admitted to AIIMS, where he was released following overnight observation.
