NOIDA: A video of Gautam Budh Nagar MP and BJP candidate Mahesh Sharma is going viral on social media in which he reportedly, while addressing a gathering, said, “They are taking about ‘community’….those who do not consider prime minister Narendra Modi and chief minister Yogi Adityanath as their own, will not consider their father as their own. If anyone says he is your own more than Modi-Yogi, then he is a traitor of the nation. They do not want betterment of the country.”
Talking to TOI, Sharma confirmed that he had said this in a context last week during a campaign. “This is a one-week-old video from a programme in Khurja. There, a rival party candidate had urged voters to vote for their ‘own’ candidate. To this, I said that PM Modi and CM Yogi had done a lot of work and also gave free vaccines to lakhs of people. If they do not consider PM and CM their own, then they will not consider anyone their own,” he said.
Two-time sitting MP Sharma is contesting against BSP’s Rajendra Solanki and SP’s Mahendra Nagar from Gautam Budh Nagar seat.
