BJP announces 10 LS candidates in Telangana

and TRS candidate P Ramulu. In the first list of 10 candidates that was announced on Thursday, N Ramchander Rao is the BJP candidate from Malkajgiri and Chinta Sambamurthy from Warangal.


Interestingly, the BJP has not yet named candidates from Hyderabad, Chevella, Medak and Khammam. According to sources, the party is wooing A Jitender Reddy of the TRS, who was not re-nominated from the party from Mahbubnagar, to contest from Chevella.

Bandaru Dattatreya was dropped and ex-MLA from Amberpet G Kishan Reddy chosen as the party candidate from Secunderabad. Senior Congress leader DK Aruna, who joined the BJP a couple of days ago, will be the BJP candidate from Mahbubnagar. Former Congress leader and TRS Rajya Sabha MP D Srinvias’s son Dharmapuri Arvind will take on TRS MP Kavitha from Nizamabad.


He was assured a ticket by the party leadership at the time of his joining last year. He was asked to work for the party strengthening in the Lok Sabha constituency.

The BJP gave tickets to loyal party leaders Bandi Sanjay (Karimnagar), Hussain Naik (Mahbubabad), Jithendra Garlpati (Nalgonda) and PV Shyam Sunder (Bhongir). Though some senior leaders like Ramchander Rao and Kishan Reddy have got a chance to try their luck in the LS elections. BJP state president K Laxman aspired to contest from Secunderabad, but the party preferred Kishan Reddy and asked Laxman to campaign for the party candidates.
