DHARAMSHALA: A youth was killed and a couple of others were injured in three accidents in Kangra valley in last 24 hours, police said on Friday.
Kangra district police chief Daljeet Singh Thakur said Vipan Kumar alias Titu, 30, a resident of Gang Bheron village on the outskirts of this town, was seriously injured in a hit-and-run case at Lohal Gang Bheron.
Vipan was taken to Dr Rajinder Prasad Govt Medical College (DRPGMC), Tanda, where he succumbed to injuries.
SSP said that Vipin was going on his motorcycle on late Thursday night when he was hit by an unknown vehicle. A case under sections 279, 337 and 304 A of the IPC besides 184 and 187 of Motor Vehicles Act was registered.
One person was injured when a jeep rolled backwards during unloading at Majhin.
The injured was identified as Sarwan Kumar, a resident of Diggar village. The driver was arrested.
Another person was seriously injured when his car rolled 15 feet down at Kuthman on Pathankot Mandi National Highway on late Thursday night.
However, it got stuck before it could plunge into Gaj river. Pathankot resident Rinkoo Puri, 35, was referred to DRPGMC Tanda for treatment.
