'Become a cook': Tej Pratap Yadav, BJP roast Rahul Gandhi's fishing act - watch
NEW DELHI: Tej Pratap Yadav roasted Rahul Gandhi's fishing act, suggesting that he should have opted for an alternate career option like "rasoiya" (cook), rather than being a politician. BJP MP Ravi Kishan joined in the battle stating that he would get "fewer votes than the number of fish he caught."
Referring to Rahul's bike rally in Bihar during Vote Adhikaar Yatra, in which Tejashwi Yadav also participated, brother Tej Pratap said that the Congress leader's "job is to ride a motorcycle and spread pollution."
"Rahul Gandhi's job is to ride a motorcycle and spread pollution. He'll spend his entire life fishing. The country will be plunged into darkness... 'Jalebi chhan'na, machli pakadna, unko toh rasoiya hona chaiye tha'. Why did he become a politician?," the Janshakti Janata Dal chief told reporters on Monday.
"As much fish as he caught when he came yesterday, he'll get even fewer votes than that. Well, alright at least his swimming style was nice. We're over there catching votes, and he's busy catching fish," (Jitna vo kal aaye unke haath jitna macchli laga hai usse kamhi vote milega. achaa hai chaliye unka swimming ka andaaz achaa laga. humko vahan vote pakad rahe hai vo machhli pakad rahe hai"), Ravi Kishan told reporters.
Rahul Gandhi, on Sunday, took a break from the campaign trail to join local fishermen in a traditional fish-catching ritual in Begusarai. Ahead of the two-phase Assembly elections starting November 6, the Congress leader waded into a pond and joined in the age-old practice of catching fish by hand and with nets.
In the 2020 assembly polls, Congress recorded the weakest performance among opposition parties as Tejashwi Yadav’s campaign helped RJD emerge as the single largest party. Despite contesting 70 seats -- the second-highest after RJD’s 144 -- Congress won only 19.
