Union Minister Piyush Goyal on Saturday warned that Bihar could witness the return of "jungle raj" under Congress, Lalu Prasad Yadav, and Tejashwi Yadav if the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) fails to retain power in the Bihar Assembly elections.
Speaking at a press conference in Patna, Goyal said that corruption and lawlessness would rise, and the liquor ban would be lifted if the Mahagathbandhan came to power.

"...I am confident that on 6th and 11th November, the people of Bihar will choose development through their votes. They will respond to those who promote the politics of jungle raj, corruption, and violence, and those who, in effect, gain political advantage by keeping Bihar backwards," he said.

He expressed confidence that the people of Bihar would vote for development and help the NDA, led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, secure a two-thirds majority in the upcoming assembly elections.

"If by any mistake, an NDA government led by the BJP does not come to power, then Congress, Lalu Prasad Yadav, and Tejashwi Yadav will once again unleash jungle raj here, corruption will rise, and their government will also lift the liquor ban. I urge the people of Bihar not to make this mistake... I believe the NDA government will win again in Bihar with a two-thirds majority and serve the people under the leadership of Nitish Kumar," Goyal said. (ANI)

The entire country is watching the Bihar election as it has been "worried" after all non-NDA parties were wiped out in the Haryana and Maharashtra assembly polls, former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said on Saturday.

"It's an interesting election there, and it's the people's wish that the Mahagathbandhan forms the government, and the entire country is watching what happens in Bihar," Gehlot told reporters here while replying to their queries.

He said that the entire country "is worried after all other (non-NDA) parties were wiped out in the Haryana and Maharashtra assembly elections, because this had never happened".

He claimed that the country will face a grave danger if the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) continues its activities.

"Where is democracy going? If this NDA continues its activities, the country will face a grave danger. Whether democracy will survive or not, or whether it will remain a mere name, is a different matter." (PTI)

BJP National President and Union Minister JP Nadda on Saturday launched a blistering attack on the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), calling the tenure of Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi a "dark era" for Bihar.

Nadda, addressing a public meeting in Siwan virtually, said that the state had faced setbacks on every front during their rule and urged voters to support Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for continued progress and stability.

"From 1990 to 2005, the rule of Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi was a dark era for Bihar; it suffered every kind of loss during that time. It endured every kind of humiliation... But under the leadership of Nitish Kumar for 20 years and 11 years of PM Modi, it has seen its development train back on track," he said.

He urged the people to vote for the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) on November 6, saying their mandate would ensure continued stability and faster growth in the state.

"When you cast your vote on the 6th of November, I want to request that this vote is not just for BJP candidates... It's a vote to provide stability to Bihar under Nitish Kumar's leadership and to accelerate development to new heights," Nadda said. (ANI)

“Were any arrests made? Who is protecting these criminals? Did they condemn the attack? Why is the Election Commission silent?"

Tension has gripped Mokama after the death of Jan Suraaj Party supporter Dularchand Yadav. A strongman and JD(U) Mokama candidate, Anant Singh, has been named in the FIR.

"People of Bihar are going to vote for change, for prosperity, for making Tejashwi Yadav the CM, for affordable electricity and 200 units of free electricity. Youth of Bihar are going to vote for their future and for jobs. Those who led to migration will be taught a lesson this time by the public," says Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav.

"You have to decide whose hands the governance of Bihar will be in - hands which spread 'jungle raj' for 15 years or in the hands of NDA, which brought good governance for 20 years. For 20 years, Nitish babu, and since 11 years PM Modi and Nitish babu together, left no stone unturned for the development of Bihar. All 5 parties in the NDA are like 5 'pandavas' and have entered the election arena together. Before us is 'Mahathugbandhan' which has such chaos and infighting that instead of contesting against us, they are contesting among themselves," says Union home minister Amit Shah.

Union minister Nityanand Rai said, NDA government has delivered on every promise, contrary to Mahagathbandhan, which made empty promises.

"The NDA government led by Prime Minister Modi at the Centre and by Nitish Kumar in Bihar has fulfilled every promise it made... Those people broke whatever promises they made. When the leaders of that Mahagathbandhan, which spread 15 years of jungle raj, murder, dacoity, kidnapping, rape, and caste frenzy, question the NDA's resolution document, the public asks them what promise they fulfilled? But today, more than 30 crore people across the country and more than 3 crore in Bihar have been lifted out of poverty... Bihar has already caught the pace of development, and that Bihar will get an even faster pace of development... Youth, women, the poor, and farmers, who are the four pillars of Prime Minister Modi's vision for a developed India, will become so strong that Bihar will make a significant contribution to a developed India... To fulfil the resolution of a developed India, Bihar will develop and provide full support to the Prime Minister," he said.

Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar on Saturday released a video message for the voters ahead of assembly elections, thanking them for their support to JD(U) since 2005 and urged them to vote in large numbers for the NDA candidates. The JD(U) supremo also took a dig at Lalu Prasad Yadav over dynastic politics, saying that he "we have nothing done for our family."

| On Mokama murder case, Janshakti Janata Dal (JJD) Chief Tej Pratap Yadav said, "The present (state) government is asleep and the gathering here is to change the same government... Crime will spread till there is unemployment and if there is employment, people will stay busy... The government should have taken cognizance of this..."

Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan said, "Bihar has always shown the country a new path, protected democracy, and we hope for the same in the future. Fear will diminish in the country, the era of injustice will diminish or end... People should also keep in mind that when times change, the next generation should not harbor feelings of revenge. Such things should not happen in a democracy..."

On Mokama murder case, Patna Rural SP Vikram Sihag said, "In a recent incident involving stone-throwing and attacks, three FIRs have been registered. The deceased's body was taken for last rites after the post-mortem, heading back to their home and then to the ghat. Continuous deployment is ongoing... The post-mortem on the deceased was conducted by three doctors of the medical board... A total of five accused have been identified by the deceased's grandson, while six accused have been named in another application. The police have registered cases against unidentified individuals... Two arrests have been made so far related to the stone-throwing incident at the scene... The investigation continues, utilising various evidence and other testimonies... The post-mortem report is expected tomorrow, which will clarify the cause of death... Prime facie, initial findings indicate a single bullet mark on the body..."

AAP MP Sanjay Singh said, "We are contesting elections on 83 seats, including 2 seats of Patna... We worked for the people where we have government and fighting for them where we are in opposition, be it in Delhi, Goa, Gujarat... BJP president J P Nadda on Friday asserted that the Bihar assembly elections will be a fight between “the dark era of RJD’s jungle raj” and “the bright streak of development” under the NDA.

At a public meeting in Maner constituency, Union Minister & BJP chief JP Nadda said, "Nitish Kumar is driving Bihar’s development at full speed, don’t let this momentum break. I personally witnessed the terror of Shahabuddin during the jungle raj under the RJD. They institutionalised kidnapping and ransom in Bihar, forcing many doctors and engineers to leave the state and settle in Delhi. The RJD is now giving an election ticket to Shahabuddin’s son, Osama. Lalu Prasad Yadav and his entire family are currently out on bail. I urge you all to vote for the BJP and NDA to continue the progress and development in Bihar."

Jan Suraaj worker Dularchand Yadav was killed during firing between the two sides while campaigning for elections in Mokama yesterday.

Addressing a press conference, AAP MP Sanjay Singh said, "Through SIR, a massive electoral fraud has been carried out in Bihar by the Election Commission. And the main person behind it, 'A'Gyanesh Kumar Ji, acted as an agent of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The process that they implemented in Bihar is now being extended to 12 other states in the country."

On NDA's joint poll manifesto for Bihar elections, RJD MLA Bhai Virendra said, "Their manifesto must have stated that they want to plunder the country, ruin the farmers and labourers, and snatch away the food from people's mouths. What else can happen?... The people of our country know that the NDA people are 'jumblebaaz' (schemers) and that they can do nothing."

Congress Observer for Bihar elections 2025, Ashok Gehlot said, "INDIA alliance should come to power in Bihar, this is in national interest... Rahul Gandhi says the constitution is in danger... He wants social security for everyone..."

On NDA's press conference, Congress leader Pawan Khera said, "Their press conference ended in 30 seconds. Tell me, have you ever heard something like this before? The chief minister, who is their face, is not allowed to speak. What is the reason why Nitish Kumar is being insulted time and again? Do they fear that they have nothing to show in their report card? What is the matter that Nitish Kumar is not allowed to speak?"

On Mokama violence and killing of a Jan Suraaj worker, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav said, "There should be no place for violence in a democracy. We are surprised how can a 40-vehicle convoy go about with weapons? What is EC doing? What is the administration doing? What action has been taken so far?...Who is protecting goons?..."

After NDA releases its 'sankalp patra', RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav said, "This is just 'jumla'. People of Bihar have recognised their 'chaal, charitra'. They will give NDA a befitting reply this time. Mahagathbandhan will form the Govt. People of the state want to end unemployment..."

On Mokama murder case, Congress leader Pawan Khera said, "If this is not 'Jungleraj' and 'Gundaraj', then what is it? Khemka was murdered near Gandhi Maidan. Nine murders occurred in 24 hours, yet they still believe that this is not 'jungleraj.'"

On NDA 'sankalp patra', RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav said, "CM might not even know what is in that manifesto. Perhaps the press conference was cut short to prevent him from speaking. We read it. NDA should release 'sorry patra' instead and apologise to the 14 crore people of Bihar. The state is the poorest despite their 20-year rule. There are no factories here, no investment. This Govt failed in all sectors. So, they should have released a 'sorry patra'...They have brought the manifesto in haste..."

The NDA on Friday unveiled its manifesto for the Bihar Assembly elections, outlining an ambitious plan focused on employment, women’s empowerment, infrastructure, and social welfare. The alliance promised one crore jobs, creation of one crore “Lakhpathi Didis,” seven new expressways, metro services in four more cities, and seven international airports.

Chief minister Nitish Kumar, BJP president JP Nadda, Deputy CM Samrat Choudhary, and other alliance leaders released the 69-page document in Patna. The manifesto pledges free education from KG to PG, Rs 2,000 monthly aid for SC students in higher education, and Rs 10 lakh assistance for extremely backward class professionals.

The NDA also promised a medicity, one medical college per district, 50 lakh new homes, free rations, and treatment worth Rs 5 lakh under its ‘Panchamrit’ guarantees. Additional plans include 100 MSME parks, new industrial hubs, skill centres, and a “Mission Crorepati” scheme to help women entrepreneurs achieve financial independence.

The Congress on Friday criticised the NDA for allegedly preventing Chief Minister Nitish Kumar from speaking at the release of the alliance’s Bihar election manifesto, calling it an “insult to Bihar and Biharis.” Senior Congress leader Ashok Gehlot claimed the event lasted just “26 seconds,” accusing the NDA leaders of avoiding media questions on their “20 years of misrule.”

The manifesto was unveiled in Patna by Nitish Kumar, Deputy CM Samrat Choudhary, BJP president JP Nadda, and other alliance leaders, who left the venue immediately after the launch. Only the deputy CM stayed behind to answer questions, with organisers citing other poll-related engagements for the abrupt exit.

Gehlot dismissed the manifesto—which promises one crore jobs, seven expressways, new airports, metro projects, and free education—as “a string of lies.” He said the Congress would demand a “report card” on the NDA’s two-decade rule in upcoming public rallies.

Deputy CM Samrat Choudhary, adding to the series of ambitious development promises as part of the NDA’s manifesto for the Bihar Assembly elections. He said the alliance plans to establish a world-class medicity in Bihar along with medical colleges in every district if it returns to power.

Highlighting the NDA’s focus on economic and industrial growth, Choudhary said 100 MSME parks will be set up across the state under the ‘Vocal for Local’ initiative to boost entrepreneurship and job creation. The manifesto also includes a commitment to double agricultural exports through the ‘Made in Bihar’ scheme, aimed at empowering farmers and transforming the state into a key agro-export hub.

Choudhary said the vision reflects NDA’s mission to make Bihar self-reliant with better healthcare, stronger industries, and a globally competitive agricultural sector.

Deputy chief minister Samrat Choudhary unveiled the NDA’s manifesto for the Bihar Assembly elections, outlining an ambitious roadmap for the state’s development. The manifesto promises employment for one crore youth and the establishment of Mega Skill Centres in every district, which will be upgraded into Global Skilling Centres.

Choudhary announced that if elected, the NDA government would grant financial aid of Rs 10 lakh to members of the Extremely Backward Classes and form a high-level commission chaired by a retired Supreme Court judge to assess their conditions and recommend upliftment measures.

The manifesto further pledges the construction of seven new expressways, expansion of metro services to four additional cities beyond Patna, and the establishment of ten new industrial parks across the state.

Highlighting an investment target of Rs 50 lakh crore over the next five years, Choudhary said the NDA aims to create a robust industrial ecosystem with manufacturing units in every district. The alliance also promised to ensure free and high-quality education from KG to PG, reinforcing its commitment to inclusive growth and youth empowerment.

"Financial and social empowerment of Extremely Backward Classes is very important. Different categories of Extremely Backward Classes will be given financial help of Rs 10 Lakhs. The most important thing is that under the chairmanship of a retired Supreme Court judge, we will form a high-level committee which will assess the social and financial conditions of different communities under Extremely Backward Classes and make suggestions to the govt for the upliftment of these communities," says Deputy CM Samrat Choudhary

Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami, campaigning for BJP’s Krishnanandan Paswan in Bihar’s Harsidhi constituency, hailed PM Modi’s leadership for driving Bihar’s rapid development. He highlighted major infrastructure projects worth over Rs 4 lakh crore, increased rail and air connectivity, and new employment opportunities, urging voters to re-elect Paswan to continue the progress.
