Big anti-aircraft ammo haul in Meghalaya

SHILLONG: A huge cache of ammunition used in anti-aircraft guns, hidden by suspected millitants, was seized from a forest in Meghalaya’s South Garo Hills district on Thursday. No such cache has been found earlier in the area in recent memory, officials said.

Acting on a tip-off, four boxes containing 340 ammunition of such guns were seized from the forest near Chibogre village in Chokpot police station area around 3.30am, cops said. The ammunition was kept in four boxes, SP Shailendra Bamania said.
