Bangaloreans speak up
NEW DELHI: Netizens are demanding that politicians and police "quit thinking about their own good" and should "act fast".
A terrified Indian; Location - USA
I am deeply hurt by what I am reading in the news. It just doesn't suffice to blame a terrorist outfit or any other group/s for what Bangalore has just suffered. I even suspect that our own political leaders may be involved.
1x1 polls
Why? The answer is simple, POWER. Create unrest, blame the govt, topple it and come to power. But why is it being forgotten that in this god forsaken game of them that innocent lives are being lost. Numbers don't matter because a life lost is lost forever, period. That is something which cannot be excused at any cost. Sitting here in the USA my stomach squirms thinking about what is going on back home. I've been trying to reach my father, who works in Koramangala, for the past one hour and I am not able to get through. Imagine the plight of several others who are now undergoing the same mental pain and anguish as I am. It's time that all in power quit thinking about your own good, which is bleeding our country dry and making her all the more vulnerable each passing day to terrorist outfits and even local criminals, and to take action and do something good. Don't be surprised if the general public blames you for what has happened because they are right. It's entirely because of your apathy and careless attitude that this unfortunate incident has happened. The "Chalta Hai" attitude that is so very infused into your blood must now be gotten rid of. You better act fast, because looking at the security that is on offer in Bangalore right now, don't be surprised if any of your political leaders got blown up on his way to a party meeting.
May GOD bless the souls of the faithful departed and give the strength that their loved ones need to bear with the loss and move on.
Sanjai says: Bangalore till now considered to be a safe place has come into limelight again. This time for all wrong reasons. Seven blasts have rocked the India's IT Capital. Bangalore police considered to be the second best after their Delhi counterparts have again failed in being alert evermore and this incident only shows how lax and complacent we have become in our security. What were the police and the Indian Intelligence doing when there were SIMI or LeT or HuJI activists entering Bangalore, or once they were staying in Bangalore. This only shows a complete intelligence failure and lack of proper and timely action by Bangalore Police. What have these innocent people done to die such a death. Its such a heartening situation and government needs to follow the same attitude that the West is following towards Terror, the policy of zero tolerance. Strong action needs to be taken to prevent terror for occurring again and again. Terrorism has bled India more number of people then all of our soldiers in the wars. This is the time to act. So the governments need to stop making statements and start some serious action.

Anirudh says: What is the point in blaming Pakistan for every Bomb blast taking place in India? It is the inefficiency of Indian Government due to which such balsts are happening. UPA Government were trigger happy to repeal POTA. The argument was that there is no dearth of anti-terrorism laws! What is the harm is POTA also remained there? What the government has achieved by repealing POTA? Has it put an end to terrorism? These terrorists know that they can do anything and anywhere in this country and the Indian government cannot do anything and rather it would let them free and allow them to live a satisfactory life in jail as in the case of Afzal Guru. So, it is high time that the Indian government deal with this menace of terrorism. Otherwise the people of India will take the law into their own hand and after that these so called secularist should not cry for secularism and communal harmony.
Virat says: Indian Government and Bangalore police should do something. If you have collected enough money for your future then please think about our country also. If people started thinking then you will not find any place to hide
SK Vasan says: It is really sad. Whoever is responsible for the blasts should be severely punished without any mercy, no matter whether they belong to any political, linguistic or communal outfit.
Kishore says: Nearly one month ago communal disputes happened in bangalore, This might be result of that. Till now ppl in bangalore were feeling it as a secure place. But it is no more. Now a days living in this world itself becoming difficult. I don't think there will b a solution for this. If at all any solution or initiation is there that shud come from the youth, so that atleast future generation will live in a peaceful environment. Friends let us take the necessary actions to give peaceful life to the future generation
Vselizabeth says: I really think that at a time like this instead of blaming anyone or any organisation what we should do like the good citizens of Hebbal and JC road when the uncalled for incident happened on 11th July is assure each other of support, compassion and help. We are all human beings first and foremost.
Asif Ayaz says: It's really saddening to see this in a peacefull city. Those who are responsible should be let to the people to stone. Our condolence to the victims' family members and those who are dead.
Srini says: No govt will protect civilians, because they r busy in protecting their own seats. they have no time for protecting we civilians. We have to protect ourselves. thats the only possible thing.
Varun says: It has to happen and happened, the common people of India understands the same that any day this can happen. But the biggest irony is that our great Politicians do not understand this, instead of taking some stringent action against terror they are fighting for their own greed.
Raksha says: Six blasts "rock" Bangalore, one killed: I guess a much better word can be used in place of ROCK. To the best of my knowledge, rock is not the word when it comes to bomb blasts and a man's life.
Manu Sharma says: This is a matter of shame and disgrace for those who have done this. History has been testimony that such acts of cowards and terrorism in past also had no effect on the unity and sovereignty of our country. Whole of nation stands united and we pray for the departed soul and wish speedy recovery for those injured.
Robin says: Anybody who lives in this city knows how sloppy and slack the Police and the Civic administration are! This was inevitable. Im certain there will be more such activities waiting to happen, thanks to our cops who are busy sleeping on several intelligence reports which warned them well in advance, about this city being on the terror map.
Kiron Rao says: The BJP was in the opposition all these years and making lots of noise regarding terroreism, now they have an opportunity to clean up the mess created by all the past governments. The govt should just go ahead and clean up the people behind this they should not keep the vote bank behind them when they take shuch challenges, It high time the govt reacted to terrorism in this country.
Sachitananda says: It is black Friday for Bangalore.
Nirmalkumar says: There should be a world-wide concerted effort to crush Islamic terrorism. India, inspite of its support to Islamic nations and still maintaining a pluralistic society is facing these threats and destruction, without any reason. India's half-hearted support to war against terror is one of the main reasons why it is spreading to other parts of the country. The appeasement politics of national parties is a kind of encouragement to terrorism. My request - while dealing with terrorism, there should not be religious consideration. A terrorist is a terrorist and he has no religion except to spread terror. Catch and fire each and every terrorist on the spot. No need of trial and protection, as in the case of Afzal Guru.
Emmanuel David says: There is nothing to blame on anyone but volunteers. Looking to the effects of serial blasts, somebody is trying to disturb the peace that was in Bangalore for decades. The only thing to solve such issues is not to pardon if somebody arrested on the same reason. Rather, can kill immediately or to send for life term. And there are easy platform to one for such incidents and this shall be avoided by CCTVs across the city.
Annu says: I am in Bangalore right now and witnessing this whole shameful act. There is a limit of tolerance, we should learn things from other countries after threat from any country has America spared anyone.....it has gone to the limits of ruining smallest of doubts of threats from anywhere. I completely give America 10/10 at least it's keeping Americans safe. What is wrong with our government why can't we also unite and teach everyone a lesson.....come-on Indians wake up me being a part of you.
Arjun Menon says: Situation is getting worse day by day. We should unite and battle against the menace of terrorism. Something has to be done quickly to destroy this virus of terrorism.
Kamal says: Bangalore is the most unsafe city to live in, these is absolutely no security in this hi-tech city. unlike other cities we do not find any police patrolling on the road, it is very rare to see police on road, our traffic police babus will not be found in traffic signals, they will be busy in collection of money instead of clearing the road. we may expect some more bad news, it we ignore our security. God only can help!!!
Sulleshwar Shastry says: Where's this nation going? The markets fell sharply over 300 points as soon the the news is heard. This terrorism is disturbing the economy, growth and common man. Let what may, the political leaders will still have Z security. what a pity...Why will political leaders need security and why not common man?
AK says: A lot of posts filled with blind rage, and yes I use the term metaphorically and literally. For anyone who works in a corporation, we know that no one company can be flawless, and yes, although it is something they cannot afford to have, the Indian Police are flawed, they are human, its is only natural. What are the citizens doing? When something of this sort happens, everyone points fingers, and there is segregation, not a coming together. What are we doing? Has everyone on this post board or anyone voicing their anger and laying blame voted in all fairness? I haven't. I think politics is corrupt, and there is no coming back from it. Everyone is subject to corrupt politics, it is the decision you make to or not to involve oneself in it. Because I have exercised my right not to vote, because I find no leader promising enough to represent my voice, I do not blame the govt. On a more humanitarian approach, I ponder the thought, 'Why do people feel the need for violence to get heard? Has the govt. our country has chosen proven itself to be deaf to "all" our voices?' That being said, - Is it safe to go home? Should we stay at work? Would it be safe to travel after sunset? Dear Mr. Editor, if you could put up statements released by the Police Comm. It would really help, as we don't have a TV set at work and the internet is my only source of information. We'd like to know what the best immediate course of action is.
Joshia says: It was a nightmare since my son's school was nearby a blast area adding to all the phone jams. Shame on such groups who are nothing but phychos and bunch of cowards who have failed in everything else.
Siddharth Chauhan says: Its really a alarming situation, Govt can not remain on his stand on terrorism, and expect citizens to give reply to terrorists by get back to the daily routine after any blast, its time to take some strict action, hit them back and hit them hard, govt is not realizing that they are all over India and doing damage at their will where ever they want.
Raveendra says: We strongly condemn this issue. As our safe city is becoming terror city day by day. We are scared to go out, we won't be safe as it is to be compared to the previous years.
Vishwas, Devashish says: Our sincere condolences to the deceased and injured families ... lets come together as one in these difficult times as Indians not as Hindus, Muslims, Christians, etc... Let these blasts not affect us ... Jai Hind
Barkatulla says: What is happening to our country no where we can be safe what these people gets by killing innocent peoples why they are doing this to our country..
Apramit Mishra says: This type of cowardly act shows that the militants are fighting for a lost cause because killing innocent persons can never justify any thing and this confirms that days of militancy throughout the world is numbered.
Nag says: I am very sad about what has happened to my beloved Bangalore. Ours was the most peaceful city, n c what has happened to this Garden city today. One more addition to the numerous epithets the city had, Bangalore, the city of bomb blasts. Whoever is held/named responsible, justice is denied forever, to the 2 innocent bystanders who died in today's blasts.
Murali says: I was shocked when i heard about the blasts. I called home and heard everyone are safe. I do not want to point finger at anyone. To those who try to take advantage of this situation, a small advice -- We are humans and we should have some decency to console. Long live India -- Mera Bharat Mahaan.
