Elections 2023 Live Updates: The stage is set for assembly elections in five states with the Election Commission announcing the dates for the electoral battle. Voting will happen between November 7 and November 30 while the counting of votes will be held on December 3. Meanwhile, BJP on Saturday released the fifth list of 92 candidates for MP assembly elections, dropping sitting MLA Akash Vijayvargiya from the Indore-3 seat. The filing of nominations for the Madhya Pradesh assembly elections and for the second phase of Chhattisgarh assembly polls started on Saturday. The opposition BJP in Chhattisgarh has filed a complaint with the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) in Raipur seeking action against 83 Congress candidates, claiming they have not furnished their criminal record details to the Election Commission within 48 hours of their selection. The Congress, however, claimed the BJP was levelling false allegations against the ruling party candidates. A Congress spokesperson said they have not given tickets to people with "criminal tendencies" and that they will fulfil the criteria laid down by the Election Commission. (ANI)
