Army Major slips into J&K gorge while patrolling, dies
SRINAGAR: A Major of the Indian Army died after slipping into a gorge while patrolling the upper reaches of Kumkadi forest in north Kashmir’s
Vikash Singh (30) of the 57 RR A Coy was on patrol duty at Kumkadi area of Haihama near Machhil sector, close to the Line of Control, when he accidentally slipped into a deep gorge.
A critically injured Singh was rushed to the military hospital in Drugmulla, and later referred to the military hospital in Srinagar’s Badamibagh where he succumbed on Sunday, said Kupwara SSP Ambarkar Shriram Dinkar.
