Another Pak artiste caught in post-26/11 crossfire

MUMBAI: Another Pakistani artiste has fallen victim to the growing tension between India and Pakistan. The producer of Jugaad has decided not to shoot the promotional video of the film with singer Adeel.
Adeel, who had earlier provided playback to the Move Your Body, Baby number in the Shahid Kapur-starrer Kismet Konnection, is at present in his hometown, Lahore.
Film's producer Sandip Kapur confirmed that he had decided not to shoot a video with Adeel. "I told him with the tension between the two countries, this is not the time to do so. Besides, I lost two friends in the terror attack. That is the reason I decided to scrap his video,'' said Kapur.
Asked about Adeel's reaction, Kapur said, "He is disturbed and hopes that if relationships get better between the two countries, he would like to come down to shoot the video.''
But the lead actor of the film, Manoj Bajpai, did not agree with Kapur. He said, "I don't think we should be taking decisions on such issues and start breaking cultural ties. We should leave it to our government to decide on the diplomatic relationships between the two countries.''
Pakistani comedian Shakeel Siddiqui was dragged out of a television set and asked to leave the country by MNS workers. They have even threatened not to allow the release of films starring Pakistani actors and singers.
Kapur said, "I didn't know the MNS has said it will not allow the release of films starring Pakistani artistes. But if they have, then I will have to do something about it, although I have very little time on hand to make changes as the film is scheduled to release in February.''
Jugaad is directed by R Anand Kumar and also stars Hrishitaa Bhatt, Vijay Raz, Sanjay Mishra and Govind Namdeo. Nitin Arora makes his debut with this film.
