being unable to transact business and said "I feel like resigning".

As was the case last Wednesday,

Advani

remained in the House and gave vent to his feelings after Speaker Sumitra Mahajan adjourned the House during zero hour.

"Ek din to House theek se chala lo (run the House properly at least for a day)," the 89-year-old Advani was heard saying. He said it would be a shame if the House did not get to hold a discussion by Friday when the winter session gets over.

"It will be considered a washout. We should have been at least seen discussing the matter and adjourn peacefully," Advani was heard saying.

Last week, he had blamed the ruling side, the Speaker and the opposition for the continued logjam and said neither "the Speaker nor the parliamentary affairs minister is running the House". On Thursday, Advani insisted a discussion should be held under any rule and no one should see it as a "victory or defeat".

Later in the evening, the Speaker said she understood Advani's "pain".
