NEW DELHI: With the situation in Khartoum still volatile, the government on Tuesday decided to temporarily relocate India's embassy from the Sudanese capital to Port Sudan. The government said in a statement it will assess the situation later in the light of further developments.

"In view of the prevailing security situation in Sudan, including attacks in Khartoum city, it has been decided that the Indian Embassy in Khartoum will be temporarily relocated to Port Sudan," it said.

"The Embassy may be approached at : +249 999163790; +249 119592986; +249 915028256 and e-mail: cons1.khartoum@mea.gov.in," the MEA added in the statement.
