NEW DELHI: The old boys of BITS Pilani have now got together to pay back their alma mater. They have created IT infrastructure worth Rs 200 crore at BITS, making it the most advanced institute in the country.
BITS Pilani alumni who passed out in last four decades, have set up an "Oyster lab" (OLAB), which is the country''s first campus-based design facility of its kind.
Another programme, called NEURON, a high performance backbone giving broadband access to hostel rooms, faculty residence and classrooms, has also been launched.
Only a few technical institutes in the world have this technology, said Satish Gupta, co-founder of Cradle Technologies.
