NEW DELHI: Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani on Tuesday did not appear too happy with the fictional recreation of the terrorist attack on the Akshardham temple in Gujarat.
At the screening of a telefilm Mission Akshardham, he said the "media should highlight the events and incidents of terrorism factually and truthfully so that the peoples'' faith and optimism in combating it grows."
He compared it unfavourably with an earlier telefilm based on live footage of the December 13 terrorist attack on Parliament, "I liked your earlier film more.
This one falls between fiction and documentary," Advani said.
Apparently, he did not like the artistic liberties taken by the makers of the telefilm. He pointed out some inaccuracies in the script of the Zee telefilm.
"The idea is that people should not become cynical and pessimistic about terrorism, which for India is an ongoing war, he said."
The best part of the telefilm is the powerful commentary by film actor Raza Murad and its slick production.
