Speaking to ANI after visiting the crash site, Mishra said, "I visited the crash site, the hostel, the hospital and the FSL... I also held a review meeting. So they are all satisfied with the work done by the state government and other public agencies, the Government of India."

Nodal Officer, Civil Hospital, Arvind Vijayan explains the process, "After receiving the DNA reports, the verification centre in D2 block of Civil Hospital has been activated, located in front of the Medical Superintendent's office. Until then, the relatives are seated in the waiting room with a counsellor and the medical team."

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, a dedicated government apparatus was activated within minutes to ensure swift and coordinated response efforts, said a statement from the CMO.

The panel, chaired by the home secretary, is expected to submit its report in three months.

The committee will have its first meeting on Monday afternoon, the sources said.

The committee is expected to focus on "formulating Standard Operating Procedures for preventing such occurrences in the future".

Gujarat health minister Rushikesh Patel on Sunday said that the DNA of 45 deceased have been matched with their relatives, and confirmed that the death toll in the Ahmedabad plane crash stands at 274.

Patel stated, "CM Bhupendra Patel informed Vijay Rupani's family about the DNA samples matching as soon as the information was received... Tomorrow, at 11.30 am, the family will receive Vijay Rupani's mortal remains from the Civil Hospital. The mortal remains will be taken to Rajkot by air and reach there at 2. The funeral will be carried out at 5 pm and the last rites will be completed at 6 pm with state honours."

P K Mishra, the Principal Secretary to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Sunday inspected the Air India plane crash site in Ahmedabad and also visited the civil hospital where injured persons are undergoing treatment.

All but one of the 242 passengers and crew on board the Boeing 787-8 (AI171) and another 29 persons, including five MBBS students, on the ground were killed in the plane crash on Thursday.

The aircraft crashed into the campus of a medical college in Meghaninagar moments after taking off from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport at 1:39pm on Thursday.

"I cleared the class 11 exam last month and secured admission in class 12. I came to Ahmedabad on June 12 to purchase textbooks. I reached my father's rented house at around 12:30 pm," Aryan said, adding that he went to the terrace overwhelmed by the sight of a low-flying aircraft.

Aryan was on the terrace of a rented house in the Meghaninagar area, close to the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport, when he witnessed the ill-fated Ahmedabad-London flight crashing into a medical college campus shortly after takeoff.

The disaster claimed 241 of the 242 lives on board, along with several casualties on the ground.

"I had just reached my father’s house around 12:30 p.m. and went up to the terrace after learning that aircraft fly overhead. I was recording a video of a plane flying low out of curiosity because I had never seen one from such a close distance.

"When the plane started descending, I thought it was going to land on the other side of the airport. Then it crashed and burst into flames right in front of my eyes. It was terrifying," he told media persons.
