In order to end the widespread rumours regarding Tamil Nadu
chief minister J Jayalalithaa's health condition , her party AIADMK has launched a social media campaign to 'put a full stop to rumours'.
The party urged followers on its official Twitter account to change their profile image to a picture featuring Amma with the text” MyCMisFine….NoMoreRumours (sic).”
"All is well with Puratchi Thalaivi Amma. Click this link, change your profile pic & put a full stop to rumours," the message said.
Jayalalithaa has been admitted in Chennai's Apollo hospital since September 22 after complaints of fever and dehydration. Speculations about her condition became rife after
her stay in the hospital prolonged . According to the doctors treating the 68-year-old CM,
her condition is improving and she is under constant monitoring.
Statements issued by the hospital on her condition said that the AIADMK supremo was suffering from infection and has been put on respiratory support. On Saturday, the hospital said: "The respiratory support is closely watched and adjusted. Lungs decongestion treatment is being continued. All other comprehensive measures including nutrition, supportive therapy and passive physiotherapy are under way."
Since she was admitted in the hospital, Amma supporters have come out in huge numbers to show their support for the Tamil Nadu chief minister, with people offering prayers, performing yagnas for her speedy recovery. Political leaders from various parties have visited the hospital to inquire about her condition. Only today,
Union minister M Venkaiah Naidu visited the hospital and said Jayalalithaa is recovering well.
