AIADMK announces candidates for 16 constituencies

CHENNAI: AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami on Wednesday released its first list of candidates for 16 constituencies, Chennai North, Chennai South, Kancheepuram, Arakkonam, Krishnagiri, Arani, Villupuram, Salem, Namakkal, Erode, Karur, Chidambaram, Nagapattinam, Madurai, Theni and Ramanathapuram.

The list includes, Royapuram Mano (Chennai North), J Jayavardhan (Chennai South), E Rajasekar (Kancheepuram), A L Vijayan (Arakkonam), V Jayaprakash (Krishnagiri), G V Gajendran (Arani), J Bhagyaraj (Villupuram), P Vignesh (Salem), S Tamilmani (Namakkal), Aatral Ashokkumar (Erode), KRL Thangavel (Karur), M Chandrakasan (Chidambaram), G Surjit Shankar (Nagapattinam), P Saravanan (Madurai), V T Narayanasamy (Theni), B Ilayaperumal (Ramanathapuram).

Palaniswami also announced that the party allotted five seats to DMDK, one each to Puthiya Tamilagam and SDPI. “Talks are on to finalise the seats for DMDK. It will be announced tomorrow,” he said. Later, Puthiya Tamilagam leader K Krishnasamy signed a poll deal to contest from Tenkasi (reserved) constituency.
