Opposition MPs protest continues

Several opposition MPs staged a unique protest outside the parliament on Wednesday. Holding the national flag in one hand and a red rose in the other, they urged the ruling BJP party to ensure that the parliament functions smoothly and that all important issues, including the Adani matter, are discussed.

Roses and tricolour

The protest was led by Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, along with MPs from the Congress, DMK, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), and the left parties. The MPs gathered in front of the Makar dwar steps, most of them holding small tricolour cards and red roses. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was also seen handing a tiranga to defence minister Rajnath Singh when he arrived at the parliament. (ANI photo)

Placards and slogans

Along with the roses, many of the MPs carried placards with slogans like "don't let the country be sold," highlighting their concerns over the alleged influence of industrialist Gautam Adani. (TNN photo)

The 'jhola' protest

This demonstration came a day after opposition MPs had carried dark blue cloth bags, or 'jholas', featuring caricatures of prime minister Narendra Modi and Gautam Adani. The bags had the words "Modi-Adani bhai-bhai" printed on one side, mocking the alleged closeness between the two. (ANI photo)

Mock interview

On the previous day, opposition leaders from the INDIA bloc had staged another protest in parliament, where Rahul Gandhi conducted a mock "interview" on the Adani issue. Congress MPs wore masks of Modi and Adani during the demonstration. (TNN photo)

Demand for probe and arrest

Since the beginning of the winter session, opposition MPs have been persistently protesting in the parliament complex demanding a Joint parliamentary committee (JPC) probe into the alleged corruption involving Adani's companies, particularly after the US court indicted Adani and other officials. Adani group's denial

Despite the growing protests, the Adani group has strongly denied all allegations, calling them "baseless." The opposition, however, has not backed down and continues to call for accountability and a full investigation into the matter. (PTI photo)
