Food delivery person Sajid Mondal remembers the day he reached a customer’s home five minutes before the predicted delivery time. "I was welcomed with a glare and an expletive just for ringing the doorbell twice,” said the 28-year-old Kolkata resident. “The customer, a woman, even complained against me accusing me of misbehaviour," he added.

In Haryana's Gurugram, 33-year-old Deep Pratap Singh, echoed a similar experience when he was assigned to deliver an order to a gated society where the lift wasn’t functional. "I had to climb seven floors and was late by five minutes. The customer abused me and tried to hit me," Singh said.
