Abhay Chautala rejects brother's rapprochement bid

CHANDIGARH: Responding to elder brother Ajay Chautala's remark that he may think of rejoining Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) if his father - patriarch Om Prakash Chautala - asks him, Abhay Chautala made it clear that there is no place for such "socially ostracised" people in INLD .

Abhay said that Ajay and his son Dushyant, who split from the parent party to form Jannayak Janta Party in 2019, should stop using party founder Devi Lal's name for political motives.

"They have been exposed and face a social boycott. When I see people abusing them, I feel ashamed to see members of Devi Lal family being abused, but it's all because of their karma. Earlier, public had never heard such words about Devi Lal family," he said.

About the chances of INLD taking JJP into its fold, Abhay clarified that his father had already made it clear that there was no place for Ajay and his family in INLD because they had breached party discipline and deceived him at a time when INLD was set to form govt in the state.
