AAP loses face in Surat seats

SURAT: Though AAP had hoped to make a mark in the region, it was the BJP wave that swept through assembly seats in Surat.
AAP’s Gujarat ambitions were boosted by its surprise performance in Surat civic elections last year, when it had won 27 councillor’s seats. AAP’s Gopal Italia lost to sitting BJP MLA Vinod Moradiya in Katargam and Alpesh Kathiria to legislator Kisorebhai Kanani (BJP) in Varachha Road constituency.AAP candidates in Surat East, Surat North, and Kamrej were among the others who lost.
