AAP launches 'Satyamev Jayate' campaign post Manish Sisodia's bail

NEW DELHI: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) initiated the "Satyamev Jayate" display picture campaign on social media platforms on Tuesday, shortly after Manish Sisodia, a prominent party leader, was released from Tihar jail on bail granted by the Supreme Court in cases related to the excise policy.

Atishi, an AAP leader and Delhi minister, announced that starting from 3 pm on Tuesday, all party leaders and members would use the "Satyamev Jayate" display picture on their social media profiles.

Atishi said, "We want to tell the BJP that no matter how much it harasses us or keeps our leaders in jail for long, ultimately, the truth will prevail." She emphasized that the Supreme Court's decision to grant bail to Sisodia, who spent 17 months in prison, was a "triumph of truth".

AAP has launched the campaign, pushing all party leaders and supporters to use the Satyamev Jayate display picture on their X, WhatsApp, and Facebook accounts starting from Tuesday.

The display picture features images of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia against a background of the party's colors. The phrase "Satyamev Jayate" is written in Hindi at the top of the display picture, while an image of the AAP's election symbol, a broom, is positioned at the bottom.

"Satyamev Jayate" is derived from a hymn in the Mundaka Upanishad, which translates to "truth alone triumphs."
