The Winter session of the Parliament began on Wednesday, and members of the Rajya Sabha have been debating the government's recent decision to demonetise the Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes. Earlier today, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee led a protest march to Rashtrapati Bhavan, and her contigent met President Pranab Mukherjee, whom they asked to talk to the government and "bring back normalcy to the country."
