DEHRADUN: Nine Uttarakhand MLAs from the Congress rebel camp, along with former chief minister Vijay Bahuguna and BJP's state unit head MP Ajay Bhatt, flew to Delhi in a charted plane from Dehradun on Friday night.

BJP sources confirmed the development and revealed that MLAs would be meeting the party high-command before being paraded before the President. "They are in a hotel and meetings have been lined up, I can't tell more than this," said BJP leader Ajay Bhatt.

The congress rebel MLAs, along with BJP leaders, met the governor Dr K K Paul at the Raj Bhawan explaining their position.

BJP sources told TOI that after their meeting with the governor, the group headed to Jolly Grant airport where a charted plane was waiting to fly them to Delhi for the next course of action. The MLAs will not be in assembly session on Saturday.

In a House of 70, the Congress has 36 MLAs, with six members of Progressive Democratic Front-formed by two BSP MLAs, three Independents and one UKD MLA-backing it. With nine Bahuguna-led MLAs moving towards BJP, the saffron party, which has 28 MLAs, will reach the magic number.

CM Harish Rawat asserted that his government did not face any threat as it enjoyed "the trust of the people and the blessings of Lord Kedarnath and Badrinath".
