60% of Delhi women say they will vote for AAP, claims Kejriwal

NEW DELHI: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is actively campaigning for the February 2025 Assembly elections, focusing on women voters. On Monday, during a campaign walk in Badarpur, Kejriwal referenced a survey suggesting 60% of Delhi women intend to vote for his Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). He encouraged the remaining 40% to also support AAP.

“There must be some shortcoming in my penance that 40 per cent of women are not voting for me. This time, 100 per cent of women must vote for the Aam Aadmi Party,” Kejriwal said.

He recently announced a monthly assistance program for women called the Mukhya Mantri Mahila Samman Yojna, initially offering Rs 1,000 and promising to increase it to Rs 2,100 after the elections.

Kejriwal highlighted his party's work in education, healthcare, and water supply. He blamed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for hindering progress in areas like Badarpur, represented by BJP MLA Ramvir Singh Bidhuri.

“Many projects in Badarpur are pending because the BJP MLA refused to work. The BJP knows how to fight but not how to work. I promise to complete these projects when AAP forms the government again,” he said.

Kejriwal noted that Badarpur lacked sewer lines despite their installation throughout the rest of Delhi. AAP has nominated Ram Singh Netaji for the Badarpur seat. The party recently finalized its list of 70 candidates for the upcoming election, where they will defend their 62 seats won in 2020. Kejriwal and other AAP leaders are conducting campaign walks throughout Delhi to connect with voters.
