5-year-old detained over fee, school officials booked

NAVI MUMBAI: Police have booked the principal and a coordinator of an international school for allegedly detaining a kindergarten student in the daycare centre for four hours as his parents had not paid a pending fee of Rs 1,000, reports George Mendonca.

The FIR was registered on Thursday against principal Vaishali Solani and coordinator Deepti under Section 75 of Juvenile Justice Act on a complaint filed by the five-year-old's father who alleged Orchid International School's approach amounted to cruelty.

The father claimed the school's zonal head Shreeya Shah promised to sack the principal, but later reneged.
