5 students killed as SUV falls into Uttarakhand gorge

Dehradun/Mussoorie: Five students from two private universities - DIT and IMS Unison -lost their lives while another is battling for life after the SUV they were in careened off the Mussoorie-Dehradun Road, plunging into a 60-metre gorge around dawn Saturday.

Among the deceased were Hardiyansh Chandra, Tanuja Rawat, Aman Singh Rana, and Digansh Pratap Bhati. The students had gone to Mussoorie in Rana's car. At Mussoorie, they met up with their senior from college, Ashutosh Tiwari, 24, who was also returning with them to Dehradun and perished in the accident.
