GUWAHATI: Three ULFA militants, who had sneaked in to carry subversive activities, were arrested on Thursday. Police claimed the three had entered the city to conduct bomb blasts and other subversive activities ahead of the Republic day celebration. Sonowar Hussain alias Biju Kalita from Goalpara, P Patowary from Kamrup and Bubul Deka from Nalbari were arrested from the Bharalumukh area, police said.
One M-20 pistol and some documents recovered from them. Militant outfits, including ULFA, had given a call for general strike and boycott of Republic day celebration.
