While one girl has been traced to Mansa in Punjab, police are searching for the other two girls, sources said.

Police have rounded up vice-president of the shelter home, Sukhbir Rana, and were investigating.
When contacted, Rahul Sharma, said, "Police are ascertaining reasons why the girls fled the shelter home. This is a serious issue. Police have arrested one girl, Jaspal Kaur, from Mansa area in Punjab."
Sudesh Kumari, warden, said, "I came to know about the incident when my daughter went to the shelter home to serve milk. She had perhaps mistakenly opened the main door. The girls may have escaped at that time. We were having nine girls in the shelter home, but now there are only six, most of whom underage."
