The CBI has set up a 53-member team, including 29 women with two of them of DIG rank, to probe Manipur violence cases. The two women DIGs are Lovely Katiyar and Nirmala S in the team.
NEW DELHI: CBI has constituted a 53-member team, including 29 women with two of them of DIG rank, to investigate the Manipur violence cases, reports Rajshekhar Jha. The two women DIGs are Lovely Katiyar and Nirmala S while Mohit Gupta is the third officer of that rank in the team which will report to joint director Ghanshyam Upadhyay, the agency said. Two additional superintendents of police and six deputy superintendents of police - all women - are also part of the 53-member force.
CBI has been probing eight FIRs, including the case of parading naked and alleged sexual assault on two women by a mob on May 4.

Besides the eight FIRs, the agency has started probe into nine other cases routed to it through the Supreme Court, sources said.
