Jal Jeevan Mission

“Through the concept of 'Swachh Sujal Gaon' (clean and water-secure villages), the Jal Jeevan Mission stall is showcasing how Bundelkhand has changed since 2017. There was a time when water had to be transported to Bundelkhand villages by train. How people even died due to lack of availability of adequate and potable water. Since 2017 and more specifically since 2019 when the Jal Jeevan Mission was launched, potable water through FHTCs has become a reality in Bundelkhand villages. A record 2.35 crore FHTCs have been provided in UP and this has brought about a significant makeover in the lives of the masses,” the minister said.

The ‘Swachh Sujal Gaon’ stall, that is already drawing rave reviews from the masses, has been set up by the Namami Gange and Rural Water Supply Department in the Mahakumbh Mela area.

“The Jal Jeevan Mission stall at the Maha Kumbh will depict the change that has happened under the leadership and visionary approach of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the country and chief minister Yogi Adityanath in UP. At the stall, there would also be a digital depiction of the importance of water conservation and that of potable water,” the minister said.
