19-year-old gets life term for sex assault on 2-year-old girl

NASHIK: Nashik district and sessions court in Maharashtra sentenced a 19-year-old from Dindori to life imprisonment on Saturday for sexually assaulting a girl less than three years old in June 2024.

District and sessions judge P V Ghule pronounced the judgement and fined the man Rs 50,000. In case he failed to pay the fine, he will have to spend an additional year of simple imprisonment.

Police said the man saw the girl playing in the veranda of her house, picked her up and took her to a farm. There he sexually assaulted the child. He was arrested later. Several sections under Pocso Act were registered against him.
