MUMBAI: England skipper Charlotte Edwards rued the dropped catches but was quick to lavish praise on the Sri Lankan batsmen after the defending champions were shocked by the Island nation's thrilling one wicket win in a Group A fixture at the Brabourne Stadium, in Mumbai, on Friday."We are bitterly disappointed as this isn't an ideal start. We did well to recover from the early set back and post 238 but a couple of dropped catches proved costly. That apart, I wouldn't want to take any away any credit from the way Sri Lanka batted," said the skipper who is playing her fifth consecutive World Cup.Edwards said there was a fine linebetween bad bowling and good batting and felt England couldn't really do muchwith the way the Lankan's chased. "It wasn't all us. They have a good bunch oftalented players and unfortunately for us, they all came good in the samegame."Edwards' Sri Lankan counterpart, Shashikala Sriwardena was obviously elated with the result. "It is a surprising result but we did keep the faith all through the game. We wanted to restrict them to 200 and ended up giving 39 runs more. But we knew we had a battling line-up that runs deep so there was no doubt about chasing the total down," she said.
