I AM: Cyrus Broacha
A week without alcohol! Yes, that's what spirituality means to me. Ask me why? Because I feel at my most spiritual self during this period. It's a process of keeping one's body pure by refraining from any intoxicants.
I believe in God only if 'she' returns my call. And I don't observe rituals. I do have faith in the almighty. That's why in times of adversity, I see myself turning to a higher power.

And that's mostly when there's no cricket on TV.
I also have a lucky mascot in the form of my dog Ruffo as he ensures health and happiness. I take him everywhere. He has an auspicious presence in my life.
I believe you can feel the presence of that unseen spirit in many ways. It needn't necessarily be in a dramatic manner.
For instance, I can recall when I experienced the presence of a supreme force. That was a couple of weeks ago when I found parking on Nariman Point. Believe me, I call that mercy!
I live by the dictate; Jisko Jiska. That's why I accept whatever comes my way as a gift from above.
What keeps me going through this mundane existence is my philosophy in life: Life is a great leveller. When things don't go as planned, it's comforting to think that a better day is around the corner.
Similarly, when you have a great day, it keeps you on the ground to think that it won't always be this way. It also makes you want to value things.
Life's as simple as this: One day you might open your bar and find the bottles empty. And on other days you could find a bottle of shining spirit staring at you from the shelf. So, cherish every moment.
