Teachers say no to 'inspection', call for dedicated team

HYDERABAD: Stating that assigning inspection duties to teachers will affect the quality of education, the members of the Telangana State United Teachers Federation (TSUTF) said that the state should have a dedicated team for inspecting schools and should revoke its decision to turn teachers into inspectors.

The members, who submitted a petition to the CMO, requested the use of the services of DEOs, deputy EOs, MEOs, and complex headmasters for the supervision of govt schools. They proposed creating an additional MEO academic post for the supervision of primary and upper primary schools and appointing a deputy education officer for each revenue division for the supervision of high schools.

They also requested the appointment of regular DEOs.

“The state should also consider the negative outcomes experienced when teachers were previously appointed as mandal resource persons, which led to cadre and seniority issues and also affected students, before making such decisions,” said E Venkat, general secretary.
