karishma upadhya met up with govinda and discovered that actor lies...but only when it does not harm anyone. a couple of days ago everyone at the sets of manoj agarwal's wah tera kya kehna was in for a major surprise. govinda, the industry's eternal latecomer had reached the sets much before his director. the unit hands were caught off guard sensing their discomfort and not knowing what to do, govinda walked up to them and put them at ease. that done he walked into his trailer and settled down for a chai. it was then that we spoke about his latest release kyo kii...main jhuth nahin bolta. the promos of this film almost give away the story, which very clearly is based on jim carey's liar liar. "my character is quite similar to the one in liar liar. but that's about it. from what i recall only one or two scenes have been inspired from that film," informed govinda. for the benefit of those who haven't seen liar liar, here's a brief -govinda plays a very shrewd lawyer who goes to any extent to get his work done and he is a compulsive liar. "it was interesting to play this character because i know one or two people who would lie at the drop of a hat for no reason at all. so does he lie? "who doesn't? but i lie only when it is absolutely important and it wouldn't harm anyone." sounds very idealistic, right! but then in an industry, which is known for its cutthroat ways, govinda has always trusted people. and at times paid heavily for doing. i do trust people too much; nine out of ten times they will stab you in the back. "it is sad but very true. as far as those concerned i don't hold any grudges because i have always come out stronger."
