Additional Commissioner, MCH, N V S Reddy, on modernisation of bus stops.
Many bus stops have been demolished as part of the modernisation plan. Commuters are facing problems in the sweltering heat.
MCH is trying to find a solution to it. We have plans to make top-class bus stops. The new bus stops will have many facilities for passengers and will add to the city's aesthetic appeal. Therefore, they will take some time to be built.
What facilities will the new bus stops have?
The new bus stops will have a modern look and provide comfortable seating arrangements. As of now, we don't have proper seating arrangements and people have to either sat on the railings or they just have to stand.
What does the plan entail?
The plan was discussed recently in a meeting between RTC and MCH. We have a three-member commission, including Additional commissioner police (Traffic), Additional commissioner, MCH traffic and Regional manager, RTC, which will carry out the plan.

We will jointly select the location and are taking care that there isn't any obstruction in the flow of buses. The project will be implemented in phases. Bus stops will be set up at 13 FOB's and at places where the roads have been recently widened.
Which are the most affected areas?
The most affected areas are Secunderabad Gurudwara, Wesley College and Dilsukhnagar. These, therefore, are our main focus areas right now. The tenders for the renovation project have already been invited.
How much time will the whole process take?
We are yet to work on the time frame of the plan.
