Shy guy Hrithik lives life one shot at a time

A flamboyant Shah Rukh confidently declares that he will win the Filmfare award every year.

But shy guy Hrithik is another ball game altogether. The introverted star shies away from even commenting on his nomination.

It''s only after much persuasion that junior Roshan speaks about his nomination for best actor at this year''s Filmfare awards.

The actor, who is busy rehearsing for his act for the big night, is now back with a big bang after Koi Mil Gaya.
1x1 polls

"I''ve always believed in taking my life one ''shot'' at a time," he says, "I try to do things to the best of my ability. The rest just happens."

Everything does seem to be going Hrithik''s way right now. In fact, dad Rakesh Roshan is quite confident that Hrithik will have an edge over competitors for the award because of his drastically different role in Koi.

"Well, we are not the ones who should decide," Hrithik says, but adds, "Even if I don''t win, my joy is in my being nominated and just being there on such an important day.

It will certainly be great if I win. But if I don''t, I already know that other actors are far more deserving than I am, so it won''t be a disappointment at all."

As he had a challenging role in Koi Mil Gaya, the thought of awards must have definitely crossed Hrithik''s mind, however fleetingly. "It did occur to me once the trials of the film began - people kept mentioning the ''National Award''. So that''s the time when I thought to myself Mission Accomplished!" he says.

If he were to pick a winner in the Best Actor category from among the remaining four contenders, who would he choose?

"You are asking me to pick a winner?" he asks, disbelievingly. "I am an aspiring actor myself. I''m trying to be half as good as these people are. There''s no way that I could sit in judgment over these fine actors. Each one of them is absolutely brilliant. And their performances are far greater than I could have ever achieved. So it''s not possible for me to judge them."

Still, expectations will be sky-high of his next film with senior Roshan. "It''s going to be a greater challenge," the Koi Mil Gaya star admits, and adds, "And a greater victory. We''re going to put in more this time. We put in more into Koi Mil Gaya than we did in Kaho Na.

And it is time to triple that effort." With a li''l ''Jadoo'' touch, it shouldn''t be too difficult.

For more log onto http://movies.indiatimes.com
