There is an interesting reason as to why the central character in the film is called Allywn. I am sure the audience will really laugh out loud when Anil Kapoor, who plays a corrupt cop, explains why he is so called to a driver in the film, says producer Tutu Sharma.

To be shot in Delhi, the schedule of Allywn Kalicharan was suppose to start on March 12. Everything had been planned down to the last detail for a big muharat, but, like the release date of Paanch, the first schedule of Allywn Kalicharan has now been deferred to March.

Incidentally, Allywn Kalicharan is part of a big rush to make movies on the police. After the Bhagat Singh mania last year, 2003 will see a plethora of films on cops – be it from Ram Gopal Varma, Madhur Bhandarkar, Raj Kumar Santoshi, Prakash Jha or Govind Nihalani.

So, where will Allywn Kalicharan stand in this crowd? If anything, the film’s title already makes it stand out!

hyderabadtimes@indiatimes.com
