Though Oberoi and Rai made big news, there are several others who have died anonymous, ironically, in their last shot at fame.

Action directors responsible for stunt scenes say these mishaps are because of lack of professionalism in the industry and use of outdated technology. "Often, there is a lack of communication or precaution," says action director Tinu Verma.
Industry veterans recount how stuntman Haji, supposed to be the best in the industry, died while acting as Anil Kap o o r '' s double on the sets of N Chandra''s Humlaa (1992). The action director had wanted to copy a computergenerated scene from a James Bond thriller.
Stuntmen say it is difficult to say no to a stunt as their prestige is at s t a k e . "Abroad, if the weather is not good, they pack up shooting.
Here, even if a stuntman dies, they will carry on," says an action director.
