Cold winds and rain swept through Delhi-NCR on Sunday, with the minimum temperature dipping to 6.4 degrees celsius in the national capital. Light, but persistent rain throughout the day brought down visibility in the capital and added to the gloom on Sunday. Light to moderate rain is expected to continue till Monday morning, officials said.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast more rainfall in Delhi-NCR over the next 12 hours even as mercury dropped to five degrees below season’s normal as rain lashed the national capital and its adjoining regions over the past 24 hours.
The forecast of the IMD says that the mercury is predicted to rise from Monday. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 20 and 10 degrees Celsius, respectively, on Monday.
The weather department has predicted that the minimum temperature is likely to hover around eight to 10 degrees Celsius over the next seven days. The day temperature is expected to remain around 22 to 23 degrees Celsius from Tuesday to February 4. A Met official said cold wave conditions are unlikely in Delhi in the next seven days.
Rain continued to lash several parts of the national capital and the neighbouring areas on Monday. The IMD has predicted a few light to moderate spells of rainfall in the region.
Here’s how netizens from Delhi-NCR reacted to the drop in mercury levels again.
