The Zojila Tunnel project crossed a major milestone as Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, J&K LG Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah attended the breakthrough ceremony marking the excavation of the final rock wall. The 13.15-km tunnel will provide year-round connectivity between Kashmir and Ladakh and is expected to become Asia's longest bi-directional road tunnel. Officials say the project will improve travel, strengthen logistics and enhance strategic connectivity in the Himalayas.
