Delhi HC Tears Into WFI Over Vinesh Phogat Trial Ban, Calls Selection Policy “Retrograde”

The Delhi High Court sharply criticised the Wrestling Federation of India during a hearing on wrestler Vinesh Phogat’s exclusion from Asian Games selection trials. The court questioned WFI’s “national shame” remark over her Olympic disqualification, called its selection policy “retrograde,” and raised concerns that rule changes may have unfairly penalised Phogat during her maternity break.
