NEET 2022 LIVE Updates: National Testing Agency conducted the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET-UG 2022) on Sunday i.e. July 17, 2022. The exam was started at 2 PM and concluded at 5:20 PM at 3500+ exam centres in India and abroad. A record 18.72 lakh candidates, including 10.64 lakh women, appeared for the NEET 2022 examination. The NEET-UG is the qualifying entrance exam for admissions into MBBS, BDS, Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) and many more medicine courses. What is the expected NEET 2022 cut-off?
The expected NEET UG 2022 cut off marks for general category is 50% and for reserved and PH candidates it is 40% and 45% respectively.

Reservation of Seats for admission to BAMS/BSMS/BUMS /BHMS Courses
Reservation Policy of the Central Government in All India Quota seats (Govt./Govt. aided/National Institutes/Central Universities) counseling is as follows:
- SC- 15%
- ST- 7.5%
- PwBD- 5% Horizontal Reservation
- OBC (Non- Creamy Layer)- 27 % Only in National Institutes/Central Universities

Merit list for seats other than 15% All India Quota
(a) NTA will provide All India Rank and Result will be shared with the DGHS, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt of India and Ministry of AYUSH, Govt. of India to provide the same to the Admitting Authorities.
(b) Admitting Authorities will invite applications for Counselling.
(c) The admitting/counselling authorities will draw a merit list of the candidates based on All India Rank in the respective categories declared by the candidates at the time of applying for admission/counselling as per State applicable rules.

Merit list for counselling under 15% All India Quota
The merit list of the eligible and successful candidates who have opted for 15% of All India quota seats will be prepared by the NTA on the basis of marks obtained in the NEET (UG) - 2022. The list of successful candidates shall be forwarded to the Directorate General of Health Services (Medical Examination Cell), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, and Ministry of AYUSH, Govt. of India for the purpose of allotment of seats by Online Counselling to 15% All India Quota Seats.

Rank based NEET percentile
Students can also calculate their NEET percentile along with their NEET rank and the number of candidates who appeared for NEET in that particular year.
- NEET percentile = [(total number of candidates appeared in NEET rank) / total no. of appearing candidates] x 100
This method is quite difficult compared to the previous one.

Marks based NEET percentile
A student can easily calculate their NEET percentage with his NEET score and NEET topper's score in that particular year.
NEET percentile = your NEET score * 100 / topper's NEET score

NEET 2022 Tie Breaking Policy
As per NTA NEET 2022, in case of two or more candidates obtain equal marks/percentile scores in the NEET UG 2022, the inter-se-merit shall be determined as follows:
- Candidate obtaining higher marks/percentile score in Biology (Botany & Zoology) in the Test, followed by,
- Candidate obtaining higher marks/percentile score in Chemistry in the Test, followed by,
- Candidate obtaining higher marks/percentile score in Physics in the Test, followed by,
- Candidates with less proportion of the number of attempted incorrect answers and correct answers in all the subjects in the Test,
- Candidate with less proportion of a number of attempted incorrect answers and correct answers in Biology (Botany & Zoology) in the Test, followed by
- Candidate with less proportion of a number of attempted incorrect answers and correct answers in Chemistry in the Test, followed by
- Candidate with less proportion of a number of attempted incorrect answers and correct answers in Physics in the Test, followed by
- Candidate Older in Age, followed by
- Application Number in ascending order

How NEET percentile is determined?
The percentile is determined on the basis of the highest marks secured in the All India common merit list in the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test for admission to Undergraduate Medical Courses.

NEET percentile: 40th percentile required for SC/ST/OBC candidates
However, in respect of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, the minimum marks shall be at the 40th percentile. In respect of candidates with Benchmark, Disabilities specified under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016, the minimum marks shall be at 45th percentile for Unreserved Category & GEN-EWS Category candidates and 40th percentile for SC/ST/OBC-NCL candidates.

NEET Qualifying Criteria: Candidate to obtain a minimum of marks at the 50th percentile
In order to be eligible for admission to Undergraduate Medical Courses for a particular academic year in case of General, General-EWS, it shall be necessary for a candidate to obtain a minimum of marks at the 50th percentile in National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test to Undergraduate Medical Courses held for the said academic year.

Sahil Chowdhury, a NEET UG 2022 aspirant said the Biology and Physics sections were easy in the paper, however the Physical Chemistry was a bit tough. "The paper was relatively easy as compared to the last year. Extra 20 minutes provided by NTA was really helpful," the student said.
