Anjala Beegum of DAV matriculation higher secondary school, who topped in Class 10 state board exams with a score of 497 out of 500, now believes the world is her oyster.
"I have opted for biology group, says Anjala, who dreams of becoming either a doctor or a fashion designer . Anjala says she expected to top her school, but topping the state was a sweet surprise .

"I was ecstatic. S i n c e LKG, I've a lw ay s come first in class. I k n ew a state rank was possible , but I didn't want to keep my hopes high," she says.
Anjala's parents Abdul Hameed and Saira Banu say they never put any pressure on her, at least not directly. Anjala never took up any extra tuition classes.
"My brother Gulzar was ranked second in the state in 2008 and scored the second highest marks in Sanskrit in Class 12. So unknowingly I pushed myself to do equally well," she says.
