Also known as Charlie''s Angles, who return full throttle with new combat tricks up their lycra sleeves.

The ''angels'', who originated in a 1970s TV series and raked up $250 million with their first feature film three years ago, are back in action to kick butt and some more. A ditzy blonde (Diaz), an insolent red-head (Barrymore) and a brunette oriental (Liu) are raring to go as soon as their boss Charlie (voiced by John Forsythe) assigns them to retrieve two files of an FBI Witness Programme.

A chain of mysterious murders must stop right away. So the yummy eye-bonbons jump into their chic designer outfits, slap on perfect make-up and display the sort of sleuthing skills that would make everyone from Mata Hari and Modesty Blaise to James Bond pea-green with envy.

In the post-feminist scenario, the threesome are deadlier than the male, making mincemeat of the creepy-crawly villain (Justin Theroux). For extra menace, a good-gal-gone-diabolical (Demi Moore) steams and sizzles to stop the angels in their tracks. No trophies for guessing whether the valiant troika or Lady Diabolique triumphs in the end.

Thrill-a-minute is the calling card of this unpretentious sequel. Martial arts, techno-snazzy gunfights, mobike daredevilry, bikini-beach frolicking, surfing stunts - you name it, you got it.

In the absence of a substantial plot, director McG keeps the entertainment pot boiling. Snatches of pop-rock songs punctuate the soundtrack in a bid to keep the teeny music boppers smiling. Don''t expect any surprises from the performances.
