She completed her Master of Business Administration (MBA) in 2009 at the CCA School of Management, Gurgaon, Delhi. Hina always wanted to become a journalist. Later, she developed a keen interest in acting and had to struggle a lot to make it to the industry.

Hina enrolled herself for an air-hostess course after completing her studies, but she contracted malaria and could not join the training academy. It was then, when acting happened to her. One day, she went in for auditions, with her friends, to Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. She did not take the audition seriously, but the very next day she got a call from the producer that she had been selected for the main lead. Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai was Hina's debut TV series.

This gorgeous actress was named in the Top 50 Sexiest Asian Women List by Eastern Eye for the two consecutive years - 2013 and 2014. In 2014, she also won the Dada Saheb Phalke Award for Best Actress in Popular category.

Over the years, Hina has won a number of awards for her role in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. In 2014, Hina was in news for dating Neeraj Baliyaan, the Director of Yeh Rishta. In the months that followed, it was reported that Hina has been dating the S.P of the show Jaywant Jaiswal. He is known as 'Rocky' on the sets of the show.
